REZONOMICS
Star Village recognizes the importance of being producers and creators of our tangible goods, so the acquired skills and achieved wherewithal can carry over. Intergenerational mobility and prosperity sharing are inherently tribal. The higher the mobility, the greater the prosperity for everyone involved, and having access to a means of production is mission-critical. Spreading wealth means including the people who've been systematically locked out from creating economic opportunities for themselves. Expanding economic opportunities for communities that suffer from chronic poverty and underinvestment is what Rezonomics is all about. That's why SVC embodies an ethos of indigenous entrepreneurship, which are self-determined, wholistic, and regenerating. From the Great Plains to the Great Basin, many examples of indigenous creation, entrepreneurship, and artistic ability are gaining momentum in Indian Country. We look forward to partnering with all of you!
VIRTUOUS CIRCLES
The absence of small business investment within our tribal communities exacerbates the growing disparity between Main Street and Indian Country. Many indigenous startups are economic underdogs, who are perpetually underrepresented, and often overlooked. Many of us have learned how to make do, with a can-do attitude, in less than ideal circumstances. We get it and are acutely aware of how we must champion ourselves and reinvest in each other's successes whenever possible. Reinvesting in tribal-owned businesses is one way to increase the lifespan of every circulated dollar within our communities. This bottom-up/grassroots approach will help us build a range of capacities across a wider network of virtuous circles, so we can multiply the social forces contributing to poverty alleviation in our communities. We're excited to collaborate with other tribal startups and legacy businesses in the future.
Proud coffee drinkers for over 200 years
Native Owned & Family Operated
Star Village Coffee (SVC) is a Native American owned and family operated coffee company. We are Great Basin, desert dwelling, coffee obsessing, combination of Type A and Type B personalities through and through. We are loyal to our soil, and can’t wait to share our passion for Great Basin artistry with our fellow coffee heads. Star Village Coffee is a young startup company that’s poised to make lasting impacts on the local and national native food movements.
Our approach to making coffee combines old wisdom with new insight, to create roast profiles that surprise at every turn. We’d like to imagine that our coffee inspiration exists in a creative space of compromise, where the desert alpine converges with the high sierra, to symbolize a historical resilience that pays homage to that which came before.
At Star Village Coffee, careful attention will be paid to all stages of the product’s development. For us, ‘quality assurance’ means paying extra attention to overlooked details that can make the difference between coffee’s that are run-of-the-mill, or coffee’s that are fine-grained with distinction.
